On 21 June 2024 around 12:20, a major grid incident occurred in the South-Eastern part of the Continental Europe power system. The incident resulted in a black-out in the electricity grids of Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and a partial blackout in Croatia. The affected TSOs, with the support of the neighbouring TSOs, restored the power on their grids within approximately 2 hours aiming at minimizing the impact of the disruption on the consumers.
ENTSO-E is currently collecting all relevant technical data about this event from the affected TSOs and will provide more information as soon as possible.
In accordance with the Incident Classification Scale methodology, the Systems Operations Committee of ENTSO-E will perform a detailed investigation of this event in the coming weeks, with the support of an expert panel.
