Following frequency deviations that affected the Continental European Power System between mid-January and beginning of March, the Continental European transmission system operators collectively carried out a compensation programme to restore the situation back to normal.

Concretely, they put over the course of March more energy in the system and maintained the average electric frequency at 50.01 Hz.

One of the effects is notably that the digital clocks geared by electric frequency are now back on time.
